The XII International Congress on Molecular Systems Biology will be held in Lleida next may 2011. The main subject is: Design Principles in Metabolic Networks, and is dedicated to Prof.M.A.Savageau whom will receive an Honoris Causa degree from the University of Lleida. Understanding the evolution of metabolic networks, its regulation, and properties requires both an experimental characterization and a theoretical explanation. Identification of design principles allow to understand network evolution and will lead to general rules on biological systems.
